The Malawi Medical Journal is a peer reviewed publication of scientific medical research and serves as a forum for the dissemination of findings of health-related research undertaken in Malawi to health workers in Malawi. It incorporates original research studies, policy analysis, case reports, literature reviews and occasional special features. It is published both in print and electronically on a quarterly basis. To promote the widest readership possible, the journal will soon be offered free of charge on the internet.

Mission Statement

To stimulate dialogue amongst researchers and health professionals in Malawi through information that will aid daily practice, lifelong learning, and career development. We believe that there is an important role for MMJ to publish research that is relevant in the Malawian context and to encourage and stimulate scientific debate amongst health personnel.
